FELICIA BARON, NEWLY CROWNED MISS ASIA ARIZONA 2011, ON THE ROAD TO “MUTYA NG PILIPINAS 2011″ (Miss Philippines 2011)… representing Fil-Am community of Arizona and Southwest USA. She captured the title of Miss Asia Arizona 2011 on October 1, 2011, her victory is no surprise. She is a Filipino descent from Chandler. Smart, beautiful, charismatic, graceful and elegant, her endearing qualities make her Arizona’s favorite choice and to be the first delegate to compete for the Mutya ng Pilipinas Pageant on November 2011, Manila, Philippines. As reigning Miss Asia Arizona 2011, her mission is to help, promote cultural diversity awareness and to continue to strengthen cultural relationships amongst many of the various Asian, Pacific Islanders and other countries in Asia continent in Arizona. Asian Arts Council @ Jimmy Choo in Scottsdale, Arizona

The Asian Arts Council hosts the Jimmy Choo Event in Scottsale, Arizona. Eileen Yeung, President of the Asian Arts Council along with Committee Members, Lily Yee & Gary Hostallero, was there for the Launch of the Catherine Handbag Collection at the store. Attendees came and discover the latest Jimmy Choo Fall 2011 Styles & Jewelry Designs from Bijou of Scottsdale. Gary Hostallero, International Artist, donated an autographed poster of his artwork, Madame Butterfly to each person that made a purchase at the Jimmy Choo. Bijen Dyrek, Jewelry Designer from Bijou of Scottsdale showed the beautiful collection of jewelry. A portion of the evening proceeds benefit the Asian Arts Council. Eileen received a very prestigious honor at a gala event “Beat the Heat” – she was awarded “Trendsetter 2011″ from Trends Publishing, see this months issue for more info…. http://bit.ly/nWFDaH. The Arizona Asian American Association had the privilege of attending an event, “A Taste of Cambodia” @ Sekong by Night Restaurant organized by the NAAAP Phoenix. The event was sold out. The night was filled with delicious food and entertainment. After the event, the AAAA made a special presentation to Mari Dillard, President with a gift of appreciation. I am on the Board of Directors for the AAAA and acts as the Official Photographer for the Arizona Asian American Association. Challenging Myself

I love to challenge myself. I had this idea before I attended the Press Conference for the Miss Asia Arizona 2011. I wanted to see what I can do with the particular idea that I had. I wanted to get a profile photo of Rachanee Jaurequi, Miss Asia Arizona 2010 and do some post-processing with colors & textures. I took some photographs in less than 1 minute. This is what I came up with. Here are the Before & After photographs. I want to express my appreciation to Rachanee Jaurequi for allowing me to photograph her at the press conference.
